Regionalization of the Hotel Association of North Texas

Since 1922, the Hotel Association of North Texas has worked with area hotels and local communities to promote tourism, meetings and events in North Texas.  During these past 80 years we have seen a tremendous growth of hotels in our market, especially over the last ten years (more hotel rooms have been added in the Dallas area than what currently exists in Austin).  Today, our association has become one of the strongest local associations in the United States, representing more than 60,000 hotel rooms and 135 properties in the North Texas Region.

To address the growth of hotels in this market and in recognition that North Texas is increasingly dividing itself into regional centers of commerce, the Hotel Association of North Texas will be reorganizing our member hotels into a new regional structure which is listed below.  This reorganization will not effect the operation of our local chapters already in place; Irving, Farmers Branch, Addison and Allen, but it will allow our member hotels and their communities to work together more effectively to promote Dallas and the North Texas area as a prime destination of choice for travelers and business meetings.

On May 22, 2007, the Hotel Association of North Texas, along with area tourism bureaus, city governments and the Dallas Cowboys, announced the success of all efforts put forth in landing the 2011 Super Bowl right here in North Texas!

The 2011 Super Bowl will in many ways benefit all hotels and cities in this market, in addition to a lot of other exciting projects currently being developed across North Texas as well.

Regionalization will aid in taking full advantage of upcoming opportunities.  It will also assist in representing our member properties in your community in a more efficient capacity.
